Staff Selection Commission

Staff Selection Commission holds a combined examination for recruitment to different posts for which a Graduation from a recognized University is the minimum requirement.

The Examination comprises written Objective Type to be held in

 

  • Two Tiers followed by Interview/Skill Test, based on Grade Pay and paper in Tier-II Examination/Interview.

 

Preference of posts

Further preference to posts within the Group will be obtained after declaration of result of Tier-II or at the time of Interview/Skill test.

  • Candidates are requested to note that option/preferenceonce exercised will be final and no change will be entertained under any circumstances.
  • Only a single application will be entertained.
  • Candidature in respect of multiple applications is liable to be rejected.
  • For the Post of Assistant in CSS, candidates shall have not more than three attempts at the examination unless covered by any of the exceptions notified by Government of India.

 

SSC Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I)

 

The Staff Selection Commission holds the Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I) Examination, for different batches of candidates appearing for the examination, for selecting the candidates for the Tier-II examination for filling up different categories of posts in various Ministries/Departments/Organisations.

 

The Combined Graduate Level (Tier-II) Examination is held thereafter. Final recruitment through the Combined Graduate Level Examination to specific category of posts would be subject to receipt of intimation of confirmed number of vacancies from the concerned intending Department/Office/Cadres, well before the Tier II Examination.

Age Limit based on different examination:

    

Inspector of Income Tax/Inspector (Central Excise)/Inspector (Preventive Officer)/ Inspector (Examiner)/Inspector of Posts/ Assistant Enforcement Officer Divisional Accountant/Auditors/UDCs/ Tax Assistants/Compiler, Junior Accountant and Accountant: 18-27 years

 

Statistical Investigators Gr-II: Not exceeding 26 years

 

Assistant/Sub Inspector in CBI: 20-27 years

 

There is relaxation in upper age limit for the candidates belonging to certain categories.

 

Essential Qualifications

 

(i) Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as one of the main subjects.

OR

     Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics (with Statistics as a paper studied in one-year/two years/all the three year as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.

OR

     Bachelor’s Degree with Economics (with Statistics as a papers studied in one-year/two years/all the three year as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.

Or

     Bachelor’s Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one-year/two years/all the three year as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.

 

     (ii) Compiler : Bachelor’s degree with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject from any recognised University.

 

     (iii) All other Posts : Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation Degree) or equivalent from a recognised University.
